Tartan kilt in red and green plaid pattern #178048571
Description
Tartan is a patterned cloth consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours. Tartans originated in woven wool, but now they are made in many other materials. Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland; Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. The patterns were simply different regional checked-cloth patterns, chosen by the wearer`s preference. As with ââ¬ËAncientââ¬â¢ Tartanââ¬â¢s, the name ââ¬ËModernââ¬â¢ relates to the colours used in the Tartan, not the date of the design. Ancient and Modern designââ¬â¢s tend to share the same sett, the change is in the colour palette used. While ââ¬ËAncientââ¬â¢ Tartan use lighter softer colours, ââ¬ËModernââ¬â¢ Tartans use stronger, darker colours. Hunting Tartan. Hunting Tartans traditionally were worn when the wearer was on a hunt.
