The medieval city of La Roche-sur-Foron is located in the department of Haute-Savoie of the french region Rhône-Alpes in the south east of France. La Roche is part of the district of Bonneville and is considered as the second historic city of Haute-Savoie today. The Saint-Jean Baptist Church is a very old church which construction dates back to the end of the 15th century. The outside walls of the Catholic church of La Roche are of white dressed stone pierres de taille. The church is remarkable for its Baroque onion-shaped steeple.
