Description
Renowned French actor and mime artist Marceau is interviewed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on June 16, 1977. Marceau`s most famous stage personality was `Bip the Clown.` During much of World War Two he was fighting with the French Resistance and in the course of his engagements, he played a significant role in rescuing many children. This aspect of his life is portrayed in `Resistance,` an independent film released in March, 2020, and stars Jesse Eisenberg as Marceau. The magnificent mime had a 60-year career, and called mime the`art of silence.` He died in France on September 22, 2007 at the age of 84.
