The eighteenth-century fortress of Ali Pasha of Tepelene in Porto Palermo, Albania overlooking the bay in the Ionian Sea. #179284074
Description
Porto Palermo is the name of both the bay on the Ionian Sea known since antiquity as Panoramos and the fortress being the residence of Ali Pasha of Tepelene. The fortress was built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, although some historians believe that it was built earlier by the Romans. The fortress has the shape of an equilateral triangle with a side of 60 m, the tops of which form massive bastions.
