Cape Fur Seals at Cape Cross colony, Namibia, Africa, renowned as one of the largest settlement of these animals in the world. Cape Cross Seal Reserve is a protected area named after the Cross planted by the Portuguese navigator and explorer Diogo Cão in 1484 on his route to find a new way to the Indies.The site is a small headland in the South Atlantic in Skeleton Coast, western Namibia, on the C34 highway some 60 kilometres north of Hentiesbaai and 120 km north of Swakopmund on the west coast of Namibia
