579/5000The center of the protected area is the monastic complex of the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo in Passignano, better known as Badia a Passignano, surrounded by cypresses and the houses of the ancient village of Passignano. In addition to the historical and architectural importance of the Badia, and the presence of flora and fauna protected by regional directives, the area has a significant relevance from the landscape point of view. In this area there are the typical elements of the Chianti landscape: hills covered by rows of vineyards or cultivated, alternating with others covered with olive groves or woods.
