Ancient Wood Shingle Ploughshare Royalty-Free Stock Image

Photo shows three wood shingles roof elements from left to right: old shingle, replica of shingle, ancient shingle earlier than 19th century. The roofs on a wooden houses in 19 century in Karelia were made from such elements, which produced from aspen beams and timbers. Beams need to be cut across by ax, so water can`t go through shingle. The end of shingle were cut like steps. So every carved shingle was handmade. this detail is a real example of ancient Karelian architecture.
