Description
The Grand Palace is the drama and mystery of Tsaritsyno Park. The unique structure, built in 1775 by the outstanding architect Bazhenov, was destroyed by order of Catherine II. A tragedy occurred not only for the fate of the great architect and his entire life, but also for the entire history of the complex and Russian architecture. The Palace, which is part of the Tsaritsyn Palace and Park ensemble development complex. Built by Matvey Kazakov in 1786-1796 on the site of the dismantled buildings of Vasily Bazhenov, the Palace became the main building for the failed residence of Catherine II near Moscow.
