Title
The M3 Stuart Light Tank Fought In North Africa #180595741
Description
Named after the famous southern cavalry general J.E.B. Stuart, the Stuart tank saw its first action against German and Italian tanks during the North African Campaign. It proved to be equal to the Axis tanks then. For a light tank, it was fairly well armored. It had a crew of four and a 37mm main gun and a 30-06 machine gun. These tankes were built by American Car and Foundry, Cadillac, and Massey-Harris. One of its draw backs was limited fuel capacity which shortened range. The Stuart did not fair well against the heavier and more powerful German Tiger tanks.
