Description
This is the only Palace complex in Russia, made in the style of `pseudo-Gothic`.nnThe Museum has an extensive collection. Permanent exhibitions feature Soviet decorative and applied art of the twentieth century, traditional art and crafts of Slavic peoples, Russian jewelry of the XVIââ¬âXX centuries, archaeological finds made on the territory of the Museum-reserve in the XX century, sculpture and much more. All year round, the Museum hosts numerous temporary exhibitions dedicated to various historical epochs of Russia and the history of Tsaritsyn himself. Royal palaces in Imperial Russia were built most often by architects of foreign origin, while the Tsaritsyn ensemble was created exclusively by domestic architects. These were the best masters of the XVIII century Vasily Bazhenov and Matvey Kazakov. According to their drawings, Large, Medium and Small palaces, Bread house Kitchen building, Cavalry buildings, Greenhouse buildings, gates and bridges, a cascade of ponds and a large landscape Park are made. After the death of Catherine the great, her heir, Emperor Paul I, stopped the construction of palaces. At that moment, the Grand Palace was already undergoing finishing work.nnAfter 200 years of gradual destruction, the historical appearance of the Tsaritsyn ensemble has been restored with the maximum possible authenticity.
