Description
Often referred to as `officer`s country` by seamen, this is where the six officers aboard the Gato Class sub bunked. Built by the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company in Wisconsin, the USS Rasher was launched in December 1942. The vessel is 311` long, 27` wide` and has a draft of 17`. On the surface, power is provided by four General Electric V-16 diesel engines, and sugmerged it runs on four high speed General Electric motors. Range is 11,000 miles.
