Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Naseeruddin Mahmood #182224340
Description

Ever since the advent of Islam in India, the history of Delhi in particular has always seen itself invariably entwined with that of the Sufi saints who enjoyed the same & sometimes greater devotion than the ruler of the day. Therefore, we see bold examples of patronage of sufi saints by the Sultans of Delhi Sultanate & later by Baadshahs of Mughal empire. So, when Hazrat Nasiruddin Chirag-e-Dehlvi died in 1356, the then Sultan of Delhi, Firoz Shah Tughluq built a mausoleum for him. Another addition was made to the complex in the form of a mosque by a later Mughal emperor, Farrukhsiyar, in the early 18th century. It is also worth noting that the tomb of Bahlul Lodhi, the founder of Lodhi dynasty, lies but a stone-throwing distance away from the dargah.
