The Beree-badalla boardwalk on Currumbin Creek is usually above the high water mark, but occasionally spring tide and rains combine just perfectly to swamp the walkway. The fringing mangrove trees Avicennia marina are inundated, the smaller trees and grasses completely submerged, seem to hold their breath until the water recedes!
