Country singer and songwriter Crystal Gayle lets her distinctive floor-length hair sway gently in the summer breeze as she performs onstage at the foot of the Navy Pier during ChicagoFest on August 8, 1981. Born in Kentucky, she is the sister of the legendary singer Loretta Lynn. She is a Grammy winner and has won 5 ACM awards and 2 CMA awards. Her heyday was the 1970s and 80s as she became a major crossover style force into pop music as well. Her biggest hit was `Don`t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue` in 1977. She is of Irish and Cherokee descent.
