Title
Henny Youngman at 1979 ChicagoFest #183470240
Description
Stand-up comedian, author, actor, and violinist Henny Youngman, dubbed `The King of the one-liners` by Walter Winchell, takes a brief pause from his rapid-fire, machine-gun joke delivery to play a few notes on his violin he calls his 'stradivaricose,' from his standby refrain, `Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.` The venue was Chicago`s Navy Pier at ChicagoFest on August 10, 1979. Married for 59 years, his wife took good-naturedly his famous line, `Take my wife, please!` Born in London in 1898, Youngman traveled the country tirelessly in his over 7 decade stage career, performing for the final time only two months before his death in Manhattan, on February 24, 1998, from pneumonia at the age of 91.
