Bluethroat scientific name: Luscinia svecica is also known as `Blue Throat Song`, commonly known as Blue Indigo. The body is similar in size to a sparrow, with a body length of 12-13 cm and a body weight of 17-18 grams. The head and upper body are mainly earthy brown. White eyebrows. The tail feathers are dark brown and the base is maroon. The chin and throat are brilliant blue with black horizontal stripes underneath. Lower body white. Female birds resemble male birds, but the chin and throat are brownish white. The iris is dark brown. Mouth black. Feet brown.
