Description
The Oriental White Stork scientific name: Ciconia boyciana is a large wading bird. The long, stout mouth is very hard and black in color. The base of the mouth is thick, tapering to the tip, and slightly upward. The exposed skin around the eyes, eyeliner and throat are all vermilion, the iris inside the eyes is pink, and the outer circle is black. The feathers on the body are mainly pure white. The wings are wide and long, and the large cover feathers, primary cover feathers, primary flying feathers and secondary flying feathers are all black with a green or purple luster. The base of the primary flight feather is white, and the inner primary and secondary flight feathers are silver-gray except for the edge and tip of the feather, and gradually turn black inward. The lower part of the front neck has long lanceolate feathers that can stand upright when courting to show off. The legs and feet are very long and bright red.
