Description
(Phalacrocorax lucidus) A member of the cormorant family Phalacrocoracidae. A breeding Pair and offspring, all sunning themselves on some rocks protruding from the waters surface. The immature birds, seen on the left, have white feathers all the way down the front, and not just on the neck as do the adult birds. The White-breasted Cormorant is the only form of Great Cormorant found in sub-Saharan Africa.
