Tourist Stands at Entrance of Gentrified Historical Building in Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles #184665817
Description
Los Angeles, CA / USA - April 12, 2019: A tourist stands in the entrance of this beautifully repurposed old warehouse that has been converted into a showroom and full service multidisciplinary design studio and retail business. This is a fine example of urban development and adaptive reuse. Glass and steel-framed windows form the entrance of a converted, gentrified, historical 1907 brick building, located in the downtown Arts District of Los Angeles. Warm, earth tones, riveted metal, brick and glass all come together in a plethora of textures: soft, hard, rough, smooth, woven, etched, brushed, coarse, polished, grainy, soothing, hewn, hammered and speared. Adaptive reuse of old warehouses in downtown LA and newly constructed buildings with an edgy, trendy design appeal especially to the Millennial Generation and attract tourists to the gentrified Arts District from all over the world.
