Playa De Las Teresitas Royalty-Free Stock Image

One of the most popular beaches on Tenerife Island. Set along the north eastern shore of the isle, within close proximity to its capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It would be hard to find a more beautiful beach than man-made Playa de las Teresitas with its two-kilometre sweep of silky Saharan golden sand fanned by waving palm fronds and lapped by turquoise waters. Originally the area of the beach consisted mostly of stone and rocks, with a small strip of black sand. There was a private spa in the middle of the beach, and the area was also used for surfing. Above the beach were farms and orchards, growing bananas, mangoes, tomatoes and avocados, that provided the town with most of its income at the time.
