Description
Common Pheasant, Ring-necked Pheasant Scientific name: Phasianus colchicus: There are 30 subspecies. The body is slightly smaller than the domestic chicken, but the tail is much longer. The male bird`s forehead and base of the upper beak are black with a rich blue-green luster. The top of the head is tan, the eyebrows are white, and the eyes are naked with the skin around the eyes. The neck has a black horizontal band that extends to the black side of the neck and connects with the black of the throat, and has a green metallic luster. Under this black ring, there is a narrower white ring than the black ring, which extends to the front neck to form a complete white ring. The front neck is wider than the back neck.
