The Aluviharaya rock temple is a sacred buddhist temple located in Aluvihare, Matale. The temple is sorrounded by hills and this cave temple is situated 30 kms north of Kandy. The history of the rock temple can be traced back to 3rd century B.C to the kind Devanampiyatissa.
