Modern Akhaltsikhe was founded at the beginning of the 12th century AD. From 1579 to 1829 the city belonged to the Ottoman Empire. Rabat fortress was built by the Turks. A picturesque painting opens from the tower of the Rabat fortress. The church majestically rises above the surrounding houses of the city according to Christian canons. There are gentle hills spread in the country, and snow-capped mountains rise on the horizon
