Friesians are stocky horses with an arched, often high and usually very strong neck, a well-angled and muscled hindquarters and a pronounced rib arch. Today Frisians are selected exclusively for the black color of the black horse and are therefore mostly true to this color.Friesians often have lush long hair, which is why they are also called long-haired horses in southern Germany and Austria. Friesians can also be recognized by the hangings on their legs. This appearance has hardly changed since the 17th century.
