This is the coastal region of Peru, following the Pacific coast from north to south and thus forming a long and narrow region between the ocean and the mountain ranges of the Andes. Although some places are fertile, most of La Costa is made up of dry desert regions. There are places in the south, near the border with Chile, that are drier than the Sahara. In some places, it doesn`t rain for years. However, the scenery can be very spectacular, with huge sand dunes and stone deserts.
