Description
Lucanus servus - female, Size imago 25 - 75 mm, rarely the largest males up to 90 mmlarva in the last instar up to 100 mm They live only a few months and feed on plant juices, nectar and tree sap. They prefer deciduous loose sufficiently sunny stands, alleys and solitary trees, especially oaks. Females lay eggs in decaying wood, in which the larvae develop for 3-5 years.
