Description
Blues singer, songwriter, and musician John Lee Hooker entertains at an August 13, 1978 ChicagoFest performance. A Missippian, Hooker was an exponent of athe Delta blues style. He combined electric guitar with this blues style. Although Hooker was dubbed `King of tahe Boogie,` he did not infuse his music with the piano as did Boogie-Woogie music. He preferred the electric guitar`s driving rhythm in his Boogie style. Hooker died in Los Altos, California on June 21, 2001 at an estimated age of 83.
