Description
Orthodox nunnery located in the center of Uglich. It was founded at the end of the XIV century by the wife of Dmitry Donskoy and was originally located in the Uglich Kremlin. In 1661, during the construction of new fortifications of the Kremlin, the monastery was moved to a new location. Temple of the Fyodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God Theodorovskaya Church. The bell tower, added to the church in the 1830s and destroyed in the 1930s, is currently 2018 being reconstructed in its old place. And in 1853, according to the project of the architect Konstantin Ton, the construction of the Epiphany Cathedral, made in the Russian-Byzantine style, was completed. The buildings of the monastery have been monuments of architecture since 1960.
