Nainital Lake, also known as Naini Lake, a natural freshwater body in Nainital in Kumaon Himalaya. Nainital is situated at an altitude of 2,084 metres 6,837 ft above sea level, the city is set in a valley containing an eye-shaped lake, approximately two miles in circumference, and surrounded by mountains, of which the highest is Naina Peak 8,579 feet on the north.
