It is located in the Gilău Mountains, components of the Apuseni Mountains, about 50 km from Cluj-Napoca. The commune is located on a high plateau at an altitude of 1150-1250 m. The relief has slightly wavy surfaces and rounded peaks, but in the north and south there are deep valleys, with steep slopes, fast waters and small dams.
