Suicide Cliff, Saipan, USA #192649715
Description
Suicide Cliff is located in the northern part of Saipan, adjacent to Long Live Cliff. Its shore is full of large and small monuments built by the Japanese to pay tribute to the dead of the Japanese army. During World War II, the U.S. troops succeeded in looting the beach, but the Japanese troops failed to defend the island. Both men, women and children, all ages, jumped into the sea from a 250-meter-high mountain wall and committed suicide. Nowadays, just like Long Live Cliff, it attracts a large number of Japanese people to pay homage here every year.
