Anhinga Bird Perched on a Branch Watching the Sunset in a Swamp in Florida #192960100
Description
This water bird is sitting above a marshy area near Tampa. It is known as an anhinga which is a word coming from an extinct Brazilian tribal language Tupi and means devil bird or snake bird. Snake bird because it does not have waterproof feathers so it`s body stays underwater when it swims around hunting for fish, which makes it look like a snake that`s ready to strike. If you ever see one with its wings splayed out, it`s probably drying it`s wings so it can fly again.
