`Comfort Women` Memorial San Francisco, 3. #198892716
Description
One or the tragedies of war, is the capture of civilians for the use of slave labors, including the use of woman and girls for sexual slavery. The period leading up to, and during, WW2, the Japanese Imperial Army took an estimated 400,000 woman and girls, from some twenty different countries, for forced prostitutes. Because so many of them never made it back, their stories were also lost, until recently. It wasn`t until the 1990`s that some of the survivors were able to publicly discuss the horrors they lived through. So now memorials are going up throughout America, and the rest of the world, in memory of these woman and to make sure it does not happen again.
