Rock-face Erosion In The Canadian Shield Royalty-Free Stock Image

The rock-face erosion in the background is the result of ice forming into cracks in the rock face over hundreds and thousands of years. Each winter the water that fills the cracks turns to ice and expands and with the passing of each winter, the cracks become larger and larger until one day the face of the rock cliff breaks off as we see here. This is an example of how geography works in the north.
