Description
Pictured is an artistic relief in the courtyard of the legendary Hotel Paisano in downtown Marfa, Texas. Named for the nearby Paisano Mountain Pass, this structure was completed in 1930. It was designed by the architectural firm Trost and Trost of El Paso, in Spanish Baroque style. It was recorded a Texas Historic Landmark in 1979. The creator of the relief is unidentified. It features a central container spilling leafy branches from fruit, and the branches then form the lower bodies of two nude women.
