Description
The Huéznar or Huesna waterfalls form a natural monument of 16,196 mò in a small area of the Rivera del Huéznar river, in the Spanish municipality of San Nicolás del Puerto, within the Sierra Norte de Sevilla natural park.It has a series of small waterfalls and pools surrounded by abundant riverside vegetation. The water of the Ribera del Hueznar is rich in calcium carbonate because it comes mainly from the karst aquifer of Guadalcanal - San Nicolás del Puerto, where the water dissolves to a great extent the limestone that forms it.The area is populated by a thick gallery forest of elms, ash trees, willows and alders.
