July 8, 2011 - Seaford, Delaware. Delaware's U.S. Senators, Thomas R. Carper (D) (front left with mic) and Chris Coons (D) (front right) participate in a ceremony held in Seaford, Delaware to launch the Nanticoke River Water Trail. The new water trail is a regional addition to the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. The Nanticoke River Water Trail stretches 26 miles through Sussex County, Delaware, and includes some of the state's most diverse natural habitats. Also represented in the photo are members of the Nanticoke Indian Association, The City of Seaford, The Nanticoke Watershed Alliance, The Nanticoke River Watershed Conservancy, the Chesapeake Conservancy, Southern Delaware Tourism, and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources.
