At the suggestion of an employee after 9/11, Union Pacific has portrayed the flag on their locomotives for over a decade. Founded July 1, 1862, when President Lincoln signed the Pacific Railway Act, Union Pacific has been building America for more than 150 years. Marfa began as a railroad water stop in the 1880s. Today it is a tourist destination and major center for minimalist art.
