Description
Pictured is the historic Godbold building near the railroad track in Marfa, Texas. It was constructed in 1919 and 1920 as a Quartermaster`s warehouse. From 1927 to 1947 it was used as a distribution center for The Radford Grocery Company. Local entrepreneur Goy Godbold bought the site in 1947 as the new home for Godbold feeds. In 1978 it was purchased by artist Donald Judd and was used for various art related activities and administration. Recently it was purchased by Marfa Distilling Company with a plan to house a sotol distillery. Sotol liquor is a Mexican drink that is known as the state drink of Chihuahua, Durango and Coahuila
