Description
This water lizard is included in the Varanus salvator species, commonly found in Asia, especially in northeast India, to Sumatra-Indonesia. These reptiles are often called monitor lizards and are very good at swimming and climbing trees. Its main diet is squirrels, rodents, birds, small reptiles, frogs, fish and river crabs. Monitor lizards often rely on their tails as a means of defense if they feel threatened.
