Description
Pictured is the Union Building at 100 Memorial Square in Fort Davis, Texas. Originally build in 1874 as the W. Keesey & Company Store, it was sold to the Union Trading Company in 1906. It remained the principle store in town until 1941. From 1941 to 1978 it operated as a hardware store and lumbar yard. Currently, the building is owned by Jeff Davis County and houses the county library. The Texas Historical Commission recorded it as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1965.
