Description
Selishchenskiye kazarmy selishchi village is located on the right Bank of the Volkhov river, 48 km North of Veliky Novgorod on the R-53 Spasskaya Polist ââ¬â Malaya Vishera ââ¬â lyubytino ââ¬â Borovichi highway. The history of military settlements in the first half of the XIX century in the Novgorod province began with the Selishchensk military settlement. The 2nd battalion of the Grenadier count Arakcheev regiment was sent here in August 1816.Construction of the complex began in 1818 under the supervision of engineer K. F. Detlov. The project involved the architect V. P. Stasov, who is the author of the Holy Spirit Church with a three-span Basilica plan with six columns and ants. By 1826, the Complex included an arena with a Church, a guardhouse, and four two-story houses with services.
