Poverty prevails so much among the villagers that about 80,000 families go into chest-high waters of the rivers of Sundarbans, regularly, in search of prawn seeds (Bagda), where they often fall prey to shark bites & the crocodile besides acquiring skin diseases from the salinity of the waters.
