A Blood Veined Moth - Timandra Comae. These have buff coloured wings with a pink or brown-red line across its fore and hind wings. Its fringes being of a similar colouration and wingspan from 30 to 46mm. Common in Southern England it is rarer in Northern parts of the UK and Ireland. Its larvae feed on low growing plants such as dock - Rumex - It favours damp places such as hedgerows, ditches and wet meadows, being seen during the day around low vegetation attracted by light.
