Reunion Tower is a 561 ft 171 m observation tower and one of the city`s most recognizable landmarks. It is known locally as `The Ball` and was completed on February 2, 1978. In 1934 the red Pegasus, the mythical Greek creature that looks like horse with wings, was placed on top of the city`s first skyscraper, the Magnolia building. It was taken down in 1999 for structural reasons, lost and then found in 2015. It was restored and placed on a 22-foot oil derrick in front of the Omni Dallas Hotel.
