Manilkara zapota, commonly known as sapodilla, sapota, chiku, chikoo, naseberry, or nispero is a long-lived, evergreen tree native to the Americas and widely grown in tropical Asia. The fruit is a large berry, 4ââ¬â8 cm in diameter, and its flesh ranges from a pale yellow to an earthy brown color with a grainy texture akin to that of a well-ripened pear, with an exceptionally sweet, malty flavor.
