Description
The historic stone from the site where seven Anglo-Saxon kings were said to be crowned in the 10th century - Athelstan, Eadred, Ethelred the Unready, Edward the Elder, Edmund I, Eadwig and Edward the Martyr. Its original location was in the Saxon Chapel of St Mary. After it collapsed in 1730 the stone was removed. It is now in front of Kingston Guildhall by the Police Station.
