This month, February 2021, the country will experience another short severe frost. Temperatures as low as -16 C 3 F. That means a lot of snow, ice fun as lakes, ditches and canals are all frozen over. There is therefore a ban on commercial shipping so that the waters freeze over evenly. Everyone goes on the ice with sleds, student skaters come with their chair to push it, but people also do breakneck tricks to e.g. take their car out on the ice. People go ice sailing and motor speedway. Ice is about 6 inches thick, but not everywhere. After 2 days, the thaw has already set in and people here and there sink through the melting ice. Apart from some fractures, there have been no serious casualties to date.
