A Marsh Harrier In Flight and On Th e Hunt - Circus Aeruginosa. These are medium-sized Raptors and having the broadest wings of the Harriers. This is a female who are larger than the male and distinguished by an obvious creamy head. Also known as the Western Marsh Harrier it can be found across much of Europe and Asia. In the early 20th Century it was hunted to the point of Extinction. With only 400 breeding pairs in the UK it is subject to great conservation protection. Feeding on small birds and mammals they are often found in Marshlands and seedbeds.
