The miniature pinscher is a breed of dog belonging to the family of Pinschers originating in Germany , where they are called zwergpinscher . It is a miniaturization of the German Pinscher that was originally used to hunt rodents, especially rats. At the beginning of the 20th century the miniature pinscher was quite common in its country of origin, first exporting to the United States in 1919 , where it was the first breed registered by the American Kennel Club in 1925.The pinscher has great energy and natural curiosity, in addition to possessing a guardian instinct that makes it a good guardian despite its small size.
